Who Is That Girl? It’s Me!

Hello! My name is Darla and I am a mom of three of the most amazing kids ever- teenage twins and a toddler! I think I must be crazy trying to conquer the teenage years and toddler years at the same time but I have always lived my life in an unconventional way!

One thing in life I truly love is being a mom! Even on the hardest days I simply love the people these little humans I created are becoming. They are the reason and the basis for all decisions I make in my life.

Growing up I always felt introverted but also made it a point to push myself out of my comfort zone. I have also always lived my life to the beat of my own drum despite others opinions (just ask my grandmother who likes to point it out)! I just firmly believe that life is what you make of it and time is too short.

When I was 20 years old I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. This is where my twins were born. Before their second birthday I returned home to Colorado. I had a tremendous support system in Colorado, but in 2011 my stepmother, who was my main support system, got terminally ill. It was at that time I realized that I depended on her and my father too much and I needed to do more in my life so I enrolled in school.

Throughout full time schooling, I also worked full time on top of being a single mom. My time was sparse but somehow I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Criminology from the University of Denver.

During my last year of college I found out I was having a third baby. During this time I was also working on creating my own business of being a Bail Bondsman. Although I loved being a Bail Bondsman, the job is very high liability. When I decided to return to Las Vegas I decided to change my career course and became a Background Investigator. I LOVED this job but after just over a year I was laid off. This is when my blog journey began!

Now I strive to help others while being unapologetically me. I hope my blog helps others become their unapologetic selves as well!
